FIVE months of planning came to an end for a dance school whose spectacular pantomime has swung into action.
The Seaton Carew Academy of Dance is staging Dick Whittington And His Cat from today until Saturday at the Town Hall Theatre in Raby Road, Hartlepool.
A cast aged from two to 22 have been putting the finishing touches to the production which has shows each night at 6.45pm and a 2pm Saturday matinee.
Dance school owner Denise Tyzack said: “We starting preparing at the end of last August when we began putting routines and dances together. We chose a cast and started to rehearse at the end of October.
“We put on about 30 different dance routines and it is a mix of traditional and popular music.”
The dance school holds its regular sessions at its base within the dance studio at the Brierton Sports Centre.
Denise added: “Practically all of the school is in the show and the children always look forward to taking part in pantomime. This is our 32nd show.”
The highlights, said Denise, would be “colourful costumes, good dance numbers and traditional and modern music. There’s a good cast and plenty of slapstick comedy.
“We have all the things you expect from a panto including a dame, a good fairy and a bad fairy.”
Tickets are £9.50 or £8.50 with concessions and they are available from the theatre box office on (01429) 890000.
