COLLEGE staff and students were moved to tears by a festive single written and recorded especially for a little boy battling cancer.

Kate Williams, 24, and Paul Hart, 28, performed their song Christmas Lullaby, which has been specially written to raise money for two-year-old Bradley Lowery, at Hartlepool Sixth Form College, in Blakelock Road.

Bradley, from Blackhall, is battling rare childhood cancer neuroblastoma and their song bought students and staff to tears during the lunchtime performance at the college.

Collection buckets were also being handed round the gripped audience members and the final amount is still being counted up.

Town talent-nurturing organisation Red Dreams, where former Sixth Form College pupil Kate is a vocal coach, is behind the production, and she co-wrote it with Paul Hart, who is a fellow artist on Red Dreams’ Otiss music label, while Paul also provides backing vocals.

Mo Bunter, Hartlepool Sixth Form College’s head of business, said: “The performance of Christmas Lullaby was incredibly moving and touching.

“Staff and Year 12 and Year 13 students came together to listen to the performance at lunchtime and it went down very well.”

The touching tune is available on iTunes for 79p.
