THE sounds of local bands of yesteryear are being rolled into one “supergroup” to perform a grand charity gig.
A band called Nostalgia will be performing at the Belle Vue Social Club, in Kendal Road, Hartlepool, from 8pm on Saturday, November 30.
The event is in aid of Hartlepool & District Hospice and the Butterwick Children’s Hospice, in Stockton. Rock ‘n’ roll and 60s music will be played.
Band members include local crooners Kenny Leighton and Peter de Dee, Brian Moon, formerly of The Hartbeats, Dave “Griff” Griffiths, of Hartlepool 1960s band The Ravons, his son Nic Griffiths, formerly of Tyneside band Freefall and Andrew Wiley of Teesside band Bit On The Side, who are all providing their services free of charge.
It will be the eighth gig Dave has organised in aid of the hospices in recent years.
There will be a £3 cover charge on the door and a tombola, to raise extra funds for the hospices.
