A POPULAR council-run Halloween event will run twice next year to make sure nobody misses out on the fun.
The annual Spoo-Quay event, which is held at Hartlepool’s Maritime Experience, off Maritime Avenue, proved such a hit that organisers have vowed to hold it twice next year.
All 1,300 tickets for this year’s Harry Potter-themed event were quickly snapped up after going on sale, leaving some people empty-handed.
Hartlepool Borough Council now plans to hold next year’s event on two evenings to make sure no-one is disappointed.
Michelle Daurat, the council’s events and visitor services manager, said: “Spoo-Quay is one of the most popular events in the Hartlepool calendar and there’s always massive demand for tickets.
“We’re sorry that some people missed out this year, so we’ve decided that next year Spoo-Quay will be run twice.
“This means there should be enough tickets to go around and it should also help reduce queuing at the event itself.”
Residents are also being urged to make a date for Christmas Crackers at Hartlepool’s Maritime Experience.
It is due to take place on Thursday, December 15, from 4.30pm-7.30pm and organisers are promising a festive feast of family entertainment.
Tickets cost £3.50 per person (under twos are free).
They are available from Hartlepool Art Gallery and Tourist Information Centre, in Church Square, or by calling (01429) 890000.
