A SPORTING group is looking for new members to enable them to take advantage of a range of benefits.
Hartlepool Sports Council can offer advice to clubs on how to apply for things such as funding and grant aid.
Chairman David Young said: “Hartlepool Sports Council has a long-standing commitment to raise the profile of sport in Hartlepool and help talented individuals fulfil their potential.
“However, there is a significant number of clubs out there that are currently not affiliated to us and we would urge them to consider the merits of coming under our umbrella.
“Clubs retain their own identities, but we are able to offer them advice on applications for National Lottery funding and other sources of grant aid.
“We promote the exchange of ideas and advice between clubs and we offer grants to talented sports people.”
Hartlepool Sports Council is a forum that aims to promote all sports within the borough of Hartlepool, including the outlying villages of Greatham, Elwick, Hart, Dalton Piercy and Newton Bewley.
It comprises councillors, club representatives and a number of co-opted people who all share the same commitment to raising the profile of local sport.
The annual membership fee is just £10 and meetings are held on the last Monday of January, March, April, June, September and November at 7pm at Seaton Carew Sports and Social Club.
Clubs wanting further information can contact Mr Young at 32 The Front, Seaton Carew, or on (01429) 265287.
