Sports auction to boost charity

A CHARITY night is being held to raise cash for a battling youngster.

The event is being held in aid of brave Talia Foster at the Rovers Quoit Club, in Grainger Street, Hartlepool, later this month.

The event includes entertainment by Red Dreams, a pie-and-pea supper, a raffle, tombola and sports memorabilia auction, which includes:

l A signed and framed Manchester United shirt;

l A framed and signed Sir Alex Ferguson photo;

l A signed Liverpool shirt;

l A signed Chelsea shirt;

l A signed and framed photos of George Best and Wayne Rooney.

There are also a host of other sporting goods, as well as golf tickets and paint-balling sessions.

All cash raised on the night will be given to Talia’s parents Clair and Brendan, from Owton Manor, Hartlepool, to pay for the two-year-old to undergo treatment to help her condition at a specialist centre, with each bout costing £1,800.

Talia faces a daily ordeal of multiple seizures and physiotherapy and needs eight different types of medication to fight a series of conditions including epilepsy.

She is also unable to sit or walk unaided, has severe learning problems and has a reduction in her white brain matter which affects its growth.
