FANTASTIC sports people could be a step away from an award.
And it’s thanks to backers including Clayfields Pharmacy that the winners of the Hartlepool Mail Sports Awards can be rewarded.
The Oxford Road pharmacy is a sponsor of this year’s inaugural competition which culminates in a ceremony in early October.
Clayfields are sponsoring the Young Sports Personality of the Year category and pharmacy manager Paul Pendergood said: “It is good to give other people the recognition they deserve.”
“We want to reward the talent of the sports people in this town and hopefully by sponsoring these awards, we can help to do that.
“It is good that people can get involved in a competition like this.”
He praised Hartlepool as a town which may be small in size but is rich in sporting achievement.
Paul added: “We also wanted to back this competition as sport is a good way for people to maintain their health.”
Paul is no stranger to success himself. He has won the Hartlepool Best of Health Awards pharmacist of the year category for the last two years.
Now it is your chance to be a winner by nominating your own sporting favourite in town.
