PEOPLE interested in the future vision for healthcare are being urged to attend a meeting next week.
In 2013, Primary Care Trusts will be replaced by GP-led Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG).
As part of the phased transformation each CCG locality has to produce a strategy for the future, known as a Clear and Credible Plan, and Hartlepool residents can have their say on the plans next week.
In November last year, Hartlepool CCG, in partnership with other local pathfinder, carried out a survey in order to develop its plan.
Health chiefs say Hartlepool CCG is now in a position to build on the work done so far and to test out the Clear and Credible Plan with patients, the public and stakeholders.
The public meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 28, at 6pm at the Hartlepool Maritime Experience, off Maritime Avenue, in Hartlepool.
Residents are welcome to go along and meet their local GPs and have their say on the vision for healthcare in Hartlepool.
The event will include an introduction presentation from GPs, group discussion and an opportunity for people to ask questions.
Dr Boleslaw Posmyk, chair of Hartlepool Locality Commissioning Group, said: “It is essential that the Clear and Credible Plan reflects the views and needs of local people.
“To make sure that this is the case we are inviting the people of Hartlepool to let us know what they think the main priorities for health should be and what they think the goals of a CCG should be.”
