HERE are the first tables in the race to win free prizes for your favourite schools.
The Mail has once again teamed up with Hartlepool’s Middleton Grange Shopping Centre to run our annual Shop for Schools contest.
It allows shoppers to transform their receipts into points and then prizes such as televisions, computers and books.
Thirty schools and nurseries are taking part in this year’s competition with the first tables showing St Aidan’s Primary School as early leaders.
St Aidan’s is one of six competitors to have already earned more than 1,000 points in the first week.
But there is still plenty of time for others to catch them up with the contest not closing until Saturday, June 22.
Nor are there any losers as every entrant is guaranteed a prize.
Final totals will also be divided by pupil numbers to ensure that smaller schools do not suffer unfairly.
There are also other ways of boosting your school’s score.
While one point is awarded for every pound spent in Middleton Grange from Mondays to Saturdays, double points are available on Sundays.
Triple points are also on offer on bank holiday Mondays – starting with this Monday coming.
To earn your points all you have to do is take your receipts to the centre’s information desk.
There they will be stamped and returned with points vouchers.
These can then be placed in letter boxes marked with each individual competitor’s name.
Don’t forget that bonus points vouchers will also be appearing in the Mail on a regular basis throughout the contest.
The next will appear early next week so keep buying your paper to make sure you do not miss out.
