A HISTORIC ship is set to come alive next month when it steps back in time for a re-enactment weekend.
Members of the Historical Maritime Society will visit HMS Trincomalee in Hartlepool on Saturday, May 28, and Sunday, May 29, for an event which turns the clock back to the days of the Napoleonic Wars.
There will be displays and a chance to find out more about life in Nelson’s Navy.
HMS Trincomalee Trust officials say the aim of the weekend is for the Historical Maritime Society to “give a flavour” of the exciting time when the Industrial Revolution, and wars with both France and the American colonies were making the news.
Society members will be in full period dress and people can find out more by going along between 10.30am and 4pm on either of the two days.
