PARENTS, grandparents and carers are being urged to get on their feet and get fit with their children.
The Stranton Children’s Centre, in Southburn Terrace, Hartlepool, is hosting Prambles sessions during the coming weeks.
The sessions see adults and their children under five enjoying walks and exercise while also getting advice on issues such as healthy eating and weight loss.
Organisers have urged parents, grandparents and carers to go along to the sessions, which will be led by trained staff.
Fiona Marshall-Bell, a council community involvement worker, said: “Are you a mum, dad, grandparent, uncle, aunt or carer? Can’t find time to exercise?
“Want to learn more about healthy eating or want to lose weight?
“Then why not come along to Stranton Children’s Centre where we are running our Prambles session for parents with children under five years old.
“The sessions are all about getting out and about with your children and enjoying a walk to the local park or surrounding areas.
“The organised walk will be led by trained staff and supported by volunteers.”
The programme is working in partnership with Hartlepool Borough Council’s sports development team, children’s centres and community health trainers, with one on hand to talk to parents about healthy lifestyles, dieting and exercise during the sessions.

l Tomorrow we go Down Your Street for Peterlee, Horden, Shotton, Blackhall, Easington and the surrounding villages.
