Stormtroopers on the road for last Hartlepool match

Hartlepool United fans have set off for the final game of the season - and are dressed for success as Star Wars stormtroopers.

Supporters showed off their identical outfits at Victoria Park before boarding coaches to Torquay where they will stay overnight before travelling to tomorrow's game at Plymouth Argyle.

Fan Angie Marchant said: "These are my stormtroopers. We are travelling down to Torquay tonight to stay the night to go to Plymouth Argyle, Hartlepool's last match of the season."

More than 100 Poolies of all ages are expected to join in the fancy dress tradition which has proved one of the highlights for fans in recent seasons.

They have caught the world's attention in previous years by dressing as white bearded smurfs, penguins, and oompa loompas.

If you are joining in the fun and going to the game we would love to see your pictures. We will publish a selection in Monday's Mail and online over the weekend.
