TASTY strawberries and cuppas galore were the treats on offer at a care home’s fundraising tea party.

There was strong support for the strawberry tea served up at the Warrior Park Care Home, in Seaton Carew.

Residents, carers, families and the public all took part in the event held in support of Dementia Week. All the money raised from the event will go towards helping people with Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Organiser Laura Tomkins said the tea was their first but it could become an annual attraction to continue raising money and spreading awareness of the disease.

She added: “We usually do a walk in September and the last one raised more than £300. But we wanted to do something during this important week.”

As well as strawberries, scones were also sold and a raffle was held to boost the total, which is still being totted up.
