Students’ success in all areas of college life were recognised and presented with awards.

Wayne Allen, TFM DJ and Hartlepool Mail columnist, was the master of ceremonies for the glittering night.

A host of awards were handed out and the top award of the night for 2012 Student of the Year went to Callum Harker.

Awards were also handed out for the most outstanding students in the college’s wide variety of vocational courses.

They covered everything from beauty therapy, hospitality and catering to computing and IT and travel and tourism.

There were also accolades for apprenticeships and the more academic sixth form studies.

Aiden Spooner was named Apprentice of the Year.

And the college’s own Sports Personality of the Year title went to Beverly Linighan.

The night was overseen by proud principal Michael Bretherick and a number of specially-invited guests.

The celebrations continued after the awards in The Studio, in Tower Street.
