CHILDREN enjoyed the great outdoors during one of many activities on offer at a popular holiday club.
Hartlepool Borough Council-run after-school and holiday programme, Oscar’s, based at West Rugby Club, in Catcote Road, organised a packed programme of events to keep children busy during their Easter break.
And after dozens of kids turned up in their night-wear for a onesie day on Monday, it was on to Summerhill Country Park on Tuesday as the children enjoyed hours of outdoor fun. And there’s still chance for parents to get their children involved as events are planned until next Thursday, April 17.
Sandra Robinson, the council’s out of school co-ordinator, said: “The team put together a varied programme which includes the onesie day, a fashion show, Easter egg hunt, and jewellery making plus visits to Ward Jackson Park, Summerhill, Vue Cinema and Hall Hill Farm.
“As a parent myself I know how difficult it can be to juggle working and looking after the children and hopefully Oscar’s makes things easier for parents during the school holidays.”
During the Easter holidays, parents can drop their children off from 8am with breakfast provided on arrival. The children can then enjoy a day of fun and adventures before being picked up again by parents at 5.45pm. The after-school service involves Oscar’s staff picking the children up from school and parents have until 6pm to collect them.
