SUPERMARKET customers can help boost a charity and give themselves a chance of winning £50 worth of vouchers.

Staff at Co-op, in Northgate, on the Headland, are urging customers to have a go at a raffle in store.

All of the money raised will go towards Mencap, which is the company’s official charity.

The in-store raffle comes shortly after staff organised a beach-themed fun day.

So far this year the store has already raised around £5,000 for Mencap, which helps people with a learning disability.

And staff are hoping the figure will be boosted even more thanks to money raised by the raffle, which is in store all week.

Gail Adams, duty manager, said: “Our raffles always prove extremely popular.

“People can help to support a fantastic charity and put themselves in with a chance of winning a £50 in-store voucher.

“We have had some fantastic support from customers so far this year and are extremely grateful.”
