THE loving family of a young cancer victim will be raising money in her memory at a fundraiser shortly after the second anniversary of her tragic death.
Becky Bell was just seven years old when she lost her devastating battle with brain cancer in January, last year.
Since the heartbreak of losing the adorable youngster, Becky’s caring family have dedicated time and effort into raising thousands of pounds in her memory.
Her parents, Julie, 42, and Mark, 38, have already raised more than £18,000 for the children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent and ward 14 at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary, where Becky was treated.
Julie is now an ambassador for CLIC Sargent and bravely talks about her ordeal as she visits schools and other organisations telling of the charity’s fantastic work.
And Becky’s family will be raising even more money for the cancer charity at a fundraiser on Friday, January 31, at the Belle Vue Club, in Kendal Road.
Popular band Here’s Jonny will be taking to the stage while tombolas, raffles, bingos and auctions will all help to raise cash.
Tickets are going on sale soon but anyone who wants to pre-order tickets are being urged to act fast as previous fundraisers organised by the family have sold out quickly.
Julie, also a mum of Vicki, 24, and Mark, 13, said: “We are always thinking of Becky and she would want us to continue helping the charity that helped her and our family so much.
“Monday, January 20, is Becky’s second year away from us and just like last year we want to raise a lot of money in memory of our amazing brave angel.
“The support we have had with all of our fundraising events has been amazing, people have been so generous.”
Julie and Mark are appealing for any prizes for the raffles and auctions or anyone who wants to donate in support of the charity.
