THE manager of Hartlepool United has lavished praised on the grass roots heroes of the town’s sporting world.
Colin Cooper applauded the people who show determination and passion at all levels of sport in Hartlepool. He also urged the public to nominate them for the Hartlepool Mail Sports Awards.
Colin backed the awards for a second year running and said: “This is a proud town and proud of the people in it. They work at all levels of the sport and take time out of their own lives to do anything they can, particularly for the younger sporting people in Hartlepool.
“I think it is an absolute credit to the town.”
Colin said he was proud to do his job and Hartlepool could boast people who cared about sport at all levels of the game.
“The North-East is a proud area with people who work very hard. There are some wonderful people doing all kinds of wonderful things and some of them have been doing it for a very long time.
“It is the norm for them and they don’t seek acknowledgment but I was there last year at the awards and it was a very humbling experience.
“Everyone who does this sort of work in Hartlepool deserves credit and I would urge people to nominate someone that is deserving for an award.”
