THERE is going to be a few hairy moments ahead for these close pals.
Kind-hearted Joe McNaughton and Rob Heselton, both 22, are preparing to go tasche-tastic for the next month in their bid to raise money for charity.
The pals, who both live in Hartlepool, will be leaving the razor in the cupboard throughout November as they take part in worldwide fundraiser Movember.
The two of them let their facial hair grow at the end of last month before shaving off their beard and leaving just the moustache for the start of their charity challenge.
As well as their hairy efforts, the generous pair have also organised a fundraising event which is due to take place later this month.
And their moustaches will not be the only ones on show at the event, which is being held at the Raglan Quoit and Social Club.
Popular Freddie Mercury impersonator Billy West will be taking to the stage.
All of the proceeds raised from the efforts of the two men will support Hartlepool & District Hospice and the Prostate Cancer Group.
The pals took part in the moustache challenge last year – and said they did not need any convincing to do it again.
“We decided in August that we were going to have another go at the challenge this year,” said Joe, who works in recruitment for a driving school and lives in the Fens area of Hartlepool with mum and dad, June and Peter, and younger brothers, Nick, 20, and Jack, 18.
“Last year we raised £500, if we did that again it would be brilliant.”
Unemployed Rob, who lives off Middleton Road, in the town, with mum and dad, Wendy and Graham, added: “It’s a bit of fun and it’s helping to raise money for two brilliant causes.”
The event at the Raglan Club will take place on Saturday, November 26 from 7pm.
It will also feature a raffle and an auction.
Tickets, priced at £4 are available from the club or by visiting www.facebook.com/charitynight
