Taxi crash boy on the mend

THE condition of a youngster who was hit by a taxi on the way to school is improving.

Jack Wood, 16, was rushed to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton, after the incident on Monday which left him with internal injuries and a broken leg.

The St Hild’s C of E Secondary School student was in a critical condition but is now thankfully said to be “comfortable and stable”.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident at 8am on Monday, on Northgate, on the Headland, at the junction with Salter Walk.
