Teachers strike: How Hartlepool and East Durham will be affected

As teachers set to strike across the country tomorrow we look at which schools will be closed for the day the in region.

Members of the the National Union of Teachers (NUT) will walk out on July 5 in what will be the union's first national day of action since 2014.

Teachers voted in favour of industrial action in order to address school funding and to resume negotiations on teacher contracts.

Individual academies will make their own arrangements regarding any closures.

The following schools will be closed to pupils:


Barnard Grove Primary School

Brougham Primary School

Greatham CofE Primary School

Kingsley Primary School

Eldon Grove Academy

Rift House Primary School

East Durham:

Acre Rigg Infant School

Deaf Hill Primary School

Dene House Primary School - only the following classes are affected:- RecK, Y3/4D, Y5F & Y5/6L. Children in other classes are to attend as normal.

Our Lady of the Rosary RCVA Primary School

Seascape Primary School

Seaview Primary

Shotton Primary School

Trimdon Junior School

Trimdon Village Community Infant School
