THIS year’s Pride of Hartlepool Awards promise to be a real tear jerker if last year’s inaugural event is anything to go by.
We have launched the annual search for those dedicated and devoted people who transform the lives of people and communities through their selfless actions.
There are 12 categories which cover everything from fundraising to academic achievement and environmental excellence. They embrace everyone, young and old alike.
This year we have included a category to celebrate the young talent we have in Hartlepool.
Youth played a major part in last year’s awards and tears flowed as our Children of Courage and Child of Achievement winners were announced at an emotional ceremony last March.
The evening was compered by TFM radio presenter Wayne Allen who said afterwards: “Many of the stories behind the awards left some people in tears and others speechless.
“It was such a humbling, yet at the same time happy and celebratory occasion.
“I will never forget the emotion and enthusiasm that was shown or the people who made it so special.”
The evening will live long in the memories of many people and we know that this year’s event will do the same.
The Pride of Hartlepool Awards are aimed at publicly praising and celebrating the actions of those remarkable people who go that extra mile for others and for their communities.
We would urge you to study the nomination form opposite and help give the amazing people in our community the recognition they deserve.
Details of how to do that are on the form but anyone wanting to know more about the awards can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or on (01429 239361.
