YOUNGSTERS will be able to enjoy some furry fun later this month when libraries across Hartlepool host a series of teddy bears’ picnics.
Children under five are invited to take their favourite teddy with them when they go along to reading and activity sessions in the libraries in the week beginning Monday, September 26.
Vicky Totty, Early Years literacy outreach worker for Hartlepool Borough Council, said: “We know how much youngsters love to listen to stories when they are cuddled up with their favourite teddies, so we thought it would be a nice idea for the teddies to come along and join in the fun at their local library.”
The events take place on Monday, September 26, at the Central Library, in York Road, from 10am-11am, at Throston Grange Library in Glamorgan Grove from 10.30am-11.30am and at Owton Manor Library, in Wynyard Road, from 2pm-3pm.
On Tuesday, September 27, the Central Library hosts a session from 2pm-3pm, while there will be similar fun at Seaton Carew Library, in Station Lane, from 2.15pm-3.15pm.
The following day, the Central Library will again be a hive of activity from 1.30pm-2.30pm, and again on Thursday from 10am-11am, while on the same day West View Library in Miers Avenue hosts a session from 10.30am-11.30am.
The week-long fun ends on Friday at the Headland Library, in Middlegate, from 2pm-3pm.
All the events are free and there’s no need to book.
