Teenager robbed of takeaway

A TEENAGE girl was verbally threatened before having her takeaway stolen.

Police have now issued an appeal for any witnesses to the robbery, which happened in Raby Road, Hartlepool, to come forward.

The 14-year-old victim was walking home from the Donatello’s takeaway after collecting a meal for her family when she was approached close to the former Odeon cinema.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “The offender asked the victim to give her the takeaway and threatened her abusively.

“The offender then snatched the bag of food from out of the victim’s hand and ran away from the scene.”

The incident happened on Thursday, August 4, at about 8.15pm.

Two women, aged 24 and 14, have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Both have been bailed pending further inquiries.
