A Hartlepool folk band is celebrating after being named Best Group at the prestigious BBC Folk Awards.
The Young'uns, made up of David Eagle, Sean Cooney and Michael Hughes won the award for the second successive year at a ceremony in London's Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday night.
David, 30, who grew up in Hartlepool, said: "It is brilliant to be recognised like this and is always great to win an award. We stumbled across folk music in a Stockton pub when we were 17 and were just blown away by it.
"It is what we have always loved to do and continue to do it."
The group are in the middle of a nationwide tour which will feature a sold out gig close to home on Saturday at Durham's Gala Theatre.
They will headline the Hartlepool Folk Festival in October.
