A THREE-hour police hunt was launched after a man made worrying phone calls to his family after a suspected domestic incident.

Concerns were raised about the 44-year-old after he left a house in the M-block of the Owton Manor estate, in Hartlepool.

The local man’s family had contacted the police saying they had received disturbing calls and were worried about his state of mind.

He was eventually found at 2.30pm yesterday near to the park in Rossmere Way after a team of officers and the force helicopter were put on his trail.

He was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage to a house and was taken into police custody to be questioned.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “Concerns were raised about the man’s safety after he made a number of worrying phone calls to his family.

“The helicopter was sent out and several police officers tried to find him on the ground.

“He was found safe and well and was arrested for an earlier incident of criminal damage and taken into police custody.”
