A DECORATING firm has added a touch of gloss to Hartlepool United’s season ticket offer by snapping up two tickets.
Wrighton Decorators is the latest Hartlepool business to back Pools’ bid to paint the town blue.
If the club reaches their target of 4,000 sales before Friday, July 15, supporters will have to pay just £100 for their season ticket – less than £5 per game. So far more than 2,600 tickets have been sold.
The decorating firm has been working with the club since the mid-1990s and is usually given two season tickets as part of its contract with the club.
But boss Ian Wright is a long-term Pools fan and wanted to do his bit to help brush up the figures. He has put his hand in his pocket to show his true colours.
Ian, 46, said: “Wrighton Decorators has long been connected with Pools – in fact, we were match sponsors for IOR’s first game in charge.
“My dad is in his eighties now and has been supporting Pools for over 60 years. He brought me to the club when I was young and I’ve been hooked ever since. It is a brilliant offer that the club have put on for season tickets and we just wanted to do our bit to help in whatever way we could,” added the married dad of one.
Billingham-based Wrighton Decorators has also agreed to give a 10 per cent discount to all season ticket holders for the 2011-12 campaign.
The ticket office at Victoria Park, in Clarence Road, is usually open from 10am to 4pm, on Monday and Friday, but opening hours have been extended in the lead up to the deadline.
The office will be open from 10am to 6pm on Thursday, July 7, and Thursday, July 14.
It will also open on Saturday, July 9, from 9am to 1pm.
Fans can also buy their tickets over the phone by calling (01429) 272584.
