THE clock is ticking on a charity scheme in which Hartlepool residents can donate their unwanted toys.
The Argos Toy Exchange in support of Barnardo’s ends tomorrow.
The initiative, which kicked off in October, called on parents and children to donate toys to their local Argos store to support the work of Barnardo’s North East.
Until tomorrow, donation stations will be in operation in Argos stores and Barnardo’s retail stores, where members of the public can donate unwanted toys in exchange for a £5 voucher.
This can go towards the cost of new toys (minimum £35 spend) to be redeemed at Argos by Christmas Eve.
All of the toys donated through the Argos Toy Exchange will be passed on to Barnardo’s to sell in its shops. Every penny of profit made in Barnardo’s retail stores goes directly into their work with some of the UK’s most vulnerable children and young people.
Tracey Brooks, Barnardo’s North East retail manager said: “We have been delighted with the response we have had from the public since the Argos Toy Exchange was launched. The quality of toys donated has been fantastic.
“For those who haven’t yet donated, please have one last clear out.”
of those toys gathering dust and donate to your local Argos or Barnardo’s store.
“Christmas can be a difficult time for many, particularly those living in poverty and every penny raised through the sale of these pre-loved toys in Barnardo’s stores will go directly toward helping those in greatest need.”
