Marina Live is back on - but will be held in the middle of Middlesbrough.

Tinie Tempah was due to play Jacksons Landing in Hartlepool on Sunday, July 30, but was postponed to give promoters time to put together information needed by Hartlepool Borough Council and Cleveland Police before the show could go ahead.

The team involved in putting on the performance by the rapper, singer and songwriter and a series of support acts said they hoped to rearrange the event for this month.

But the gig venue is now listed for Centre Square in Middlesbrough on Sunday, October 1.

Tickets are now on sale via See Tickets - which still lists it as Tinie Tempah Live at Hartlepool Marina, but also has details the new venue.

Ents24 is also selling the tickets for the same price and the new location, but makes no reference to Jacksons Landing.

But I’ll not be going to this one, I’ve had enough.

Skiddle.com lists the new date and venue, but also states the event in Hartepool has been cancelled due to “unforeseen circumstances.”

It is not clear if the performance will be an open air show.

Promoter Junior Masandi could not be reached when contacted for comment.

A 33-year-old woman who bought tickets for the original event said she would not be buying more for the new show.

She paid more than £90 for two passes for her and her partner and was given a full refund for their cost, plus booking fees, via Skiddle when the Hartlepool show was called off.

She said: “I just asked for a refund because I was so fed up.

“I’ll definitely not be going to the new one.

“I got my money back pretty quickly, which was good.

“But I’ll not be going to this one, I’ve had enough.”

The council’s licensing committee heard in June that essential details were missing in the detailed documents for the show.

At that stage, the authority, along with police, were still waiting for risk assessments, traffic and crowd management plans, and details of what would happen in the event of extreme weather or if the site had to be evacuated.

Mr Masandi said there had been an issue over contact details on paperwork and a decision over the event was then postponed.

Hartlepool Borough was unable to comment on the issue last night.
