THE country’s top female DJ will swap the turntables of Ibiza to perform to clubbers in Hartlepool.
Rebekah Teasdale, known in club circles as DJ Rebekah, is used to playing tunes to sun seekers and in the world’s most glamourous night spots.
But on Friday, April 29, she will entertain revellers at a popular club night in Hartlepool.
The free event at the Pearl Bar in Victoria Road will form part of the Grand Hotel’s Royal Wedding celebrations.
The club night is being staged by local club promoters DC-11 whose bi-monthly parties in Hartlepool attract upwards of 500 clubbers.
Promoter Adam Melville, from Hartlepool, said: “She is the biggest female DJ in the UK. Last week she played in Dubai, she is in Ibiza every single year and basically plays all the different continents.
“And now she is coming to Hartlepool.”
Rebekah’s management got in touch with Adam after DC-11 built up a loyal following from clubbers all over the country and via the internet.
He added: “We’re over the moon. She is probably the first big name we have got.
“We’ve had other names people would recognise but this is definitely our biggest. We’ve never had anyone of this size before.
“I’ve been involved in the club scene for about 15 years now and feel we are bringing a city club night to a little town.”
Former glamour model Rebekah, from Birmingham, started DJ-ing when she was 16 and has her own record label.
Hartlepool DC-11 DJs Steve Dickson and Owen “CaRdIaC” McNally will also play at The Royal Techno Party which starts at 9.30pm and goes on until 3am.
