A COUNCIL is advising residents that the system for issuing new and replacement concessionary bus passes is now operating normally again.
Last week Hartlepool Borough Council was unable to deal with any new applications for passes because the firm that makes and issues them on behalf of all the Tees Valley councils had given notice that it was withdrawing from its contract.
The councils needed the week to enable them to transfer their systems and information to a new interim supplier.
That work has now been completed and Hartlepool Council is now processing bus pass applications again.
Mike Blair, the council’s highways, traffic and transport manager, said: “We apologise once again for any inconvenience caused by last week’s temporary loss of service and we thank people for their patience and understanding.
“The service is now operating normally again.”
