A TV crew turned heads in Hartlepool as the town became the setting for yet another film crew.
The town has been a real magnet in recent years with Inspector George Gently, a detective drama set in the 1960s for the BBC, and ITV crime drama Vera both recorded on our doorstep.
And locals watched as the cameras returned to the Middleton beach area once more. On-lookers got to see Vera star Brenda Blethyn, who plays DCI Vera Stanhope, during filming on the beach with a TV crew.
Vera is a British detective television series which is based on the works of author Ann Cleeves.
A spokesman for ITV confirmed that the filming was on an episode called The Moth Catcher, based on the book of the same name by Ann Cleeves.
Filming is expected to be completed by October and is scheduled to be shown on television screens by the Spring of next year.
Television cameras have also been in locations across Newcastle and Northumberland.
It is yet another boost in the TV world for the town - exactly a year after the Headland was a hive of activity as actors, crews and extras filmed scenes for both Inspector George Gently and Vera at the same time.
