A JOBLESS man who was given a way out of the dole queue by a hit TV show has walked away from his job just 10 weeks after being given a dream start.

Scott Pounder was given the lifeline thanks to Channel 4’s The Fairy Jobmother and a joinery firm.

Today the Mail can reveal he is a convicted thief who stole jewellery from a dead relative.

Just two-and-a-half months into the sought-after apprenticeship role, which could have earned him £23,000 after three years, the 19-year-old failed to turn up for work and has not been seen since.

Scott was unavailable for comment, but today his boss, Joe Dowling, operations director of John Watson Joinery, in Usworth Road, Hartlepool, said he was “devastated” and was still prepared to offer Scott a lifeline.
