A SINGING TV star went down a storm when he visited a town club.
Shaun Foster Conley, star of ITV’s hit show Benidorm was the big attraction at the Rovers Quoit Club, in Grainger Street, Hartlepool on Thursday night.
After the action-packed sell out show, he said: “It was a most memorable event, the crowd loved it.
“Hartlepool people are really special, they just love having a good time and always join in with the fun, very much like the folk I work with in Benidorm.”
The evening was organised by Hartlepool’s Paul “Goffy” Gough as a thank you to the club for giving him his first break back in the 70s before he embarked on a successful radio career.
The club is set to close its doors for the final time this summer and move into the former Iona club, in Easington Road.
