A ROAD was closed for more than an hour after a two-car collision.
Police and the fire brigade were called to Warrior Drive, in Seaton Carew, at 12.15pm on Thursday after the collision involving a Ford Mondeo and a blue Vauxhall Corsa which happened close to the Schooner pub on the Warrior Park estate.
There were three people inside the two cars, but all managed to get out safely, with the help of the firefighters and without any major injuries.
The road was closed for an hour while both vehicles were recovered and debris cleared away from the head-on collision that damaged the front end of both cars.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “We received a report of people being trapped after a two car collision at 12.17pm involving a Ford Mondeo and a Vauxhall Corsa.
“Three people were removed from the cars but there were no reports of any serious injuries.”
Andy Robinson, from Stranton Fire Station, said they had left the motorists in the vehicles while they were checked over by paramedics before removing them.
Two people from the Mondeo were taken to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton, to be checked over while the driver of the Corsa was taken to One Life Hartlepool, in Park Road.
