Two men injured in dog attack

TWO men were injured when they tried to stop a pit bull terrier attacking a border collie.

Police are trying to trace the owner of the bull terrier following the incident in Heortnesse Road, on the Central Estate, Hartlepool.

The dog was without a collar and lead when it attacked a border collie, its owner and another man who tried to stop the attack.

A 62-year-old man from the Central Estate suffered an injury to his hand and ankle and the second man, aged 48, injured his hand.

The incident happened about 11am on Tuesday, July 19.
