Emergency services were called to the scene of the collision in Melrose Avenue, Billingham, at around 12.30pm on Saturday.
Firefighters had to carefully remove a woman in her 30s from a Citroen AX which had been in collision with a Ford Sierra Cosworth.

The driver of the Cosworth and his girlfriend also escaped uninjured.
