THE number of people claiming unemployment benefits has fallen again according to the latest official figures.
Another 108 jobseekers in Hartlepool came off Jobseekers’ Allowance (JSA) between September and October.
There were 3,992 people claiming the help in October compared to 4,100 the previous month.
Similar drops were also seen elsewhere in the region.
In the Easington parliamentary constituency the figures for October were 2,730 – down around 100 from 2,843 in September.
In Stockton North, which takes in Billingham, Wolviston and parts of Wynyard, the JSA figure was 3,465 compared to 3,612 in September.
And in Sedgefield the number of JSA claimants stood at 2,060, doen from 2125 the previous month.
