ARMED police were called after a vehicle was shot at in the street.
Gas workers were in Arkley Crescent, Hartlepool, when they raised the alarm just before 11.40am yesterday.
Armed response officers were called to the street and officers believed the vehicle was hit by a pellet from an air gun.
No-one was hurt, but police have appealed for more information on the incident.
Inspector Chris Dawber, of Hartlepool Police, said: “Gas workers were there in the street carrying out work at an address and their vehicle was damaged.
“It is believed an air weapon was used.”
A woman in her 40s was arrested and bailed on suspicion of criminal damage and firing an air weapon in public.
