A POLICE search was launched after a man rang officers to say he was planning to throw himself from a viaduct.
Police raced to the scene and the 25-year-old man was found after 15 minutes.
The man, from Horden, rang Durham Police saying he was going to throw himself from Horden Viaduct at around 7.20pm on Sunday.
Police say he gave them the location of his car during the call.
Around 15 minutes later, he was found walking along the Coast Road in Horden, not far from his vehicle.
Inspector Paul Etherington, of Durham Police, said the man was left in the care of his mother who said she would take him for a health assessment.
