MORE than 100 children had a knockout time when they were introduced to boxing as part of a national initiative.
Horden boxer Liam Dineen put pupils of Cotsford Junior School through their paces when they joined him in the gym for a series of taster sessions.
Liam and staff from his Box Clever Training Centre led the youngsters through a series of exercises including warm ups, games and taster sessions on boxing bags.
It was part of the school’s involvement in National School Sport Week which aims to build on the success of last year’s London Olympic Games and inspire young people to take up a sport.
School PE co-ordinator Janet Hall, who arranged the gym visit, said: “The children absolutely loved it. Some said they were interested in taking it further.
“We do a health week in school ebery year but I think there has been a bit more focus this year. It has been a big success.”
Other sports have been held in school each day of the week.
