VIDEO: Fun in the sun for schoolchildren

SCHOOLCHILDREN enjoyed fun in the sun during two events held during their last week of term.

Youngsters at schools in Hartlepool and East Durham were treated to a host of activities during fundays held at their school.

The events took place at Lynnfield Primary School, in Hartlepool, and Shotton Hall Primary School, in Peterlee.

During Lynnfield’s summer fair, held at its Grosvenor Street base, highlights included a visit from Cleveland Fire Brigade, Hartlepool Police, and Mickey Mouse.

There was also fairground rides, competitions, book stalls and tombolas during the well-attended event.

Meanwhile, summer funday activities at Shotton Hall Primary School, in Waveney Road, Peterlee, included ice cream from the Seaham-based Lickety Split ice cream parlour, balloon art from the All Things Fun fancy dress shop in Horden, stalls, face-painting and a bouncy castle.

Youngsters also enjoyed a Sunderland AFC shooting challenge and a visit from the Black Cats’ Samson the Cat mascot, as well as a dance session hosted by Peterlee-based Nouveau Fitness.
