FRIDAY was the longest day of the year – and you helped us to use it to capture the magic of summerime in Hartlepool.
We used the Summer Solstice to put together what 24 hours looks like in the life of the town in a mini-movie.
And you gave us a helping hand in putting together the film featuring a wide-range of people, businesses and locations in Hartlepool.
We were also lucky enough to get the help of Hartlepool band The Jar Family.
The town’s seven piece were more than happy to get on board with the project and sent us their fantastic track Poolie Strut to use in the video. Our team of reporters and photographers went out and about capturing clips to be edited together while you sent in great footage of your day-to-day life.
A big thank you to everyone who got involved and we hope you enjoy the finished item.
Do let us know what you think in the comments section. We also trended on Twitter with #longestlocalday and uploaded several summertime videos throughout the day.
Go take a look at the scarecrows in Elwick and Castle Eden and fun times at the Greatham Feast.
Don’t forget that it doesn’t have to be a special occasion to send us in a video.
You can send us your clips all of the time to the Mail – whether it be from an emergency incident, a community event or a funny moment.
We’ll try and use everything we are sent on www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk
