PEOPLE will be able to see the first signs of spring at a popular annual event.
The annual Snowdrop Walk at the Hospital of God in Greatham, on the outskirts of Hartlepool, is being staged tomorrow after being cancelled last weekend due to frost and heavy rain.
Hospital of God director David Granath said it was cancelled because the flowers hadn’t quite bloomed and paths around the hospital grounds were in need of clearing and cleaning.
Dorothy Clark, chairwoman of Greatham in Bloom, which organises the event, said despite last week’s cancellation around 40 people attended the village’s community centre where they were served coffee and cake.
Tomorrow the Hospital of God will open its gates between 1pm and 4.30pm, with entry costing £2 for adults and £1 for pensioners and children.
The tickets will be on sale in Greatham Community Centre, in Front Street, where people can also get refreshments.
