TOWN leaders were asked for answers during a heated parish council meeting centring on the planned gypsy/traveller site at Hart Village.
Here is some video footage of what went on during the tense exchanges at Hart Village Hall on Wednesday night.
Hartlepool MP Iain Wright was asked if he would support the residents in trying to get Hartlepool Borough Council’s finance and policy committee’s decision of earmarking the two village sites overturned.
But Mr Wright said it was a decision made at local level, and he would make representations on residents behalf.
Hart ward independent councillor Keith Fisher and Labour ward representative Paul Beck said they are “100 per cent” behind whatever the residents want to do.
Hartlepool Borough Council leader, Councillor Christopher Akers-Belcher said the committee made the decision that they felt was best for the town.
