Village residents oppose compost site plan

ANGRY residents packed out a community hall to express their opposition to proposed plans for a new council-run composting site on the outskirts of their village.

People living in Hart Village organised a public meeting at short notice to express their concern after learning of plans for a windrow composting site just off the A179, near Nine Acres, in the village.

Residents said they found out about the plans when a Hartlepool Borough Council letter proposing the site was posted online.
