AN impressive selection of vintage vehicles will roll into Hartlepool at the weekend for a classic motor show.

The event, organised by the Northern Bygones Society (NBS), will take place in the car park of Hartlepool’s Maritime Experience from 10am-4pm on Sunday, April 17.

The event is free to visit and drivers of classic vehicles are also welcome to bring their motors along.

Paul Jackson, who organises the event for the NBS, said: “This is a great opportunity for older people to take a trip down memory lane, and for younger ones it’s a wonderful chance to see some pieces of living history.”

More than 200 vehicles are expected to attend from around the region including cars, motorcycles, buses, vans, wagons and tractors.

Prizes are on offer to the best vehicles in a variety of categories, including best car, best bike and best commerical vehicle.

Claire Munroe, of Hartlepool Council’s cultural services section, added: “We’re delighted to welcome the Northern Bygones Society to Hartlepool. Classic vehicles have a special attraction for people of all ages, and shows like this are always extremely popular.”
