AN AWARD-WINNING park looks set to welcome dozens of guests through its gates for an annual summer event.

The Friends of Ward Jackson Park is holding the yearly Summer Fun Day this coming weekend.

The event is suitable for all of the family from babies, toddlers, school children, teenagers, parents and grandparents.

There will be a number of activities on offer on the day, and a selection of stalls, rides, and plenty to see and do.

There will be a gymnastics display, along with a magic show to keep the children entertained, and a string of traditional games that children love.

The funday takes place 
this weekend, on Sunday, July 20.

Activities start from 1pm and the fun will carry on until 4pm.

A spokeswoman for the Friends of Ward Jackson Park said: “Bring family and friends along to the park and join in the fun on Sunday, July 20.

“Enjoy a family fun day at Ward Jackson Park.

“You could even bring your favourite teddy bear along to enjoy a picnic in our new natural spaces picnic area.”

She added: “This year the Friends have organised a day of favourite activities including traditional games, a gymnastics display, magic show, funfair and craft stalls.

“We also have a sensational tombola stall and great raffle prizes.”

There will be:

l A free children’s magic show;

l A fun fair;

l Free craft-making activities

l Coconut shy;

l Tombola;

l Raffle;

l a collection of local craft businesses

l face painter

The Place in the Park cafe will also be open for fair-goers to enjoy a selection of teas, coffees, and hot and cold foods.
