Hundreds of people have sent well wishes and prayers to Jacob Jenkins, who is in an induced coma in Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary after reportedly choking on a grape.

The two-year-old was at Pizza Hut in Hartlepool on Friday.

First aiders from both the restaurant and nearby cinema rushed into action – but Jacob stopped breathing for around 30 minutes. He was later revived by paramedics.

After his parents posted on social media that their little boy was fighting for his life in a coma, many began to light candles of hope in Jacob’s name.
