THE Pride of Hartlepool Awards encapsulated everything that is great about Hartlepool.
Young and old alike were honoured for their bravery, courage and community commitment.
Almost 200 people attended the Hartlepool Mail’s annual awards ceremony at Hartlepool College of Further Education to celebrate the achievements of some of the town’s finest people.
From courageous children to successful sporting stars including Olympian Gemma Lowe the evening celebrated the pride that exists in Hartlepool.
During an emotive and, at times tearful ceremony, emotional tributes were also given to Hartlepool’s seven-year-old Princess Becky Bell who captured the hearts of everyone before succumbing to brain cancer.
The late Gus Robinson MBE was also honoured for his community commitment to the town.
The whole evening was captured by Hartlepool Mail staff for a special 12-page supplement carried in today’s Mail.
